Easy there Tiger!!
Yesterday it was reported that drinking beer might actually make your man
smarter. Before you start running for that case of Corona, let's take a closer
look at what the study suggests.
Psychologists at the University of Illinois found that men who drank 2 pints,
were able better able to solve brainteasers. While their memory might not have
been better than their sober counterparts, they were quicker and more creative.
They concluded that too often we may over think and analyze things, and take
longer to solve easy word connections.
We all know the unhealthy consequences of drinking too much
beer. You can become that drunken fool at the bar, develop that not so sexy beer
gut, and who doesn't know someone that develops those infamous "beer muscles"
and gets into a fight like those kids on Jersey Shore. Woke up next to someone
not so great? Thank those "beer goggles". Also, if you drink too much, just
because you may forget everything you did, trust me, your friends and family
will not. Just like anything, moderation is key.
Beer is not my thing. Well, maybe on a hot summer day, but generally the taste
is too heavy for my preference. If I do pick one up, I always check the calorie
count, because it's easy to let that number get out of control when you're out
having fun with your friends.
Other Uses For Beer
Still not for you? Don't like the taste? Some other uses for beer include:
From beer batter, to deglazing beef, baking bread (beer has yeast and barley),
even in your chili - there are tons of ways you can use beer safely in cooking.
As the rule goes, never use a beer to cook that you would not drink.
Use that left over flat beer as a good polish to your wood furniture. Just make
sure to test it out on a small part first.
Don't have any club soda on hand? Use a small amount of beer and watch those
stains come out.
Rinse your wet hair with half a can of beer after shampooing once a week to
bring back the sheen and luster to your hair. It can also help tame some
frizziness. Warning, please don't do this to your children. Or before an
interview. You may want to make sure you rinse well, unless of course, you like
smelling like beer.
Always drink safely! Have a wonderful week.
