Who are the Two Mujeres (Women)?
Patti is a cervical cancer and obesity survivor. She was diagnosed with stage IIB cervical cancer shortly after retiring from the NYPD after 20 years of service as a Police Officer. After her battle with cancer, she tipped the scale at 238 pounds on her 5'3" frame and wore a size 22. Due to her obesity she developed diabetes type 2, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, but she became DETERMINED to go from Heavy to Healthy.
Patti has lost 113 pounds and 55 inches through sensible eating and exercise. Now, she is on a mission to educate others about her journeys. She shares her personal experiences in hope to make a difference.
Patti has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the City University of New York and is a passionate advocate of women's reproductive health and obesity issues.
She is the current President of the NYC Chapter of Tamika and Friends, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about cervical cancer and its link to HPV (human papilloma virus). She frequently give presentations and attend Health Fairs around New York City to increase awareness on the preventive measures to prevent a Cervical Cancer diagnosis. On October 2011, Patti was featured on Telemundo Channel 47 as a "Hispanic Pride" for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Dr. Helen Troncoso received her Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. She is the current Ms. New York America 2012, and the former Ms. New York Belleza Latina 2011. In private practice, she designs individualized health & wellness plans for her individual and corporate clients as CEO and founder of her company, Reinventing You, LLC.
An advocate for women's health, she is especially passionate about bringing awareness to cervical cancer, serving as the 1st Vice President of the New York chapter of Tamika & Friends, Inc. Dr. Troncoso has contributed health tips to Shape.com, Latina.com, El Diario La Prensa NY, Voxxi and Impacto Latin News.
Helen is also the resident health expert for CasaLatina.com, a home and lifestyle firm targeting the US Hispanic population. This fall Dr. Troncoso will be co-starring on a new tv show, “El Bien Estar del Hogar con Casa Latina”, for V-me TV, the first national Spanish-language network to partner with American public television. This new show will follow Marlene Pratt, co-founder of Casa Latina, and Dr. Helen Troncoso, as they challenge, transform, and motivate participants to live their healthiest life ever.

Our Mission
Patti and Helen met at the beginning of 2011 and it wasn't long after that when they decided to work together in hopes of making a difference. While they may travel in different circles of life, they share the same passion and mission, which is to give women's health issues a voice and to help increased awareness.
The Voices of Two Mujeres was created on February 1, 2011.
